AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed. The name is based on 2 Timothy 2:15, "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, as a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
This exciting ministry offers children (ages 3 through grade 6) an intense hour and a half of recreation, Bible memorization, and Bible devotional emphasis. AWANA consists of three separate groups: Cubbies for ages 3-4; Sparks for kindergarten through grade 3; and Truth & Training for grades 4 through 6. Children are rewarded in various ways as they progress through different handbooks and stages. In addition to the Sunday AWANA gatherings which take place at 6-7:30 pm, the ministry provides additional opportunities for recreation, missions’ projects, and quality group interaction. AWANA maintains a meeting schedule consistent with the public school calendar. The ministry usually begins in late August and ends the first week of June.
AWANA begins September 25, 2011.
