Music

The choir will be on summer break for the next few weeks. Rehearsals will resume Wednesday, August 3. This is a great time to join the choir! No special skills are needed, just a desire to “make a joyful noise.” Rehearsals are every Wednesday, right after Bible study. If you prefer to attend the 8:15 service, please be aware that many of our choir members attend the early service, and then leave right after singing at 11:00. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your involvement in the choir, please let me know. It’s okay to just “show up” for the first rehearsal on August 3- we would love to have you join us!

While the choir takes a break, our other musicians will be working overtime! Special music at our 8:15 and 11:00 services will be provided by members of the praise team and other talented members of our congregation. Individuals and small groups will continue to provide music for our evening services, and of course Gayle and Marie will be there to play every week. What great “music warriors” these ladies are! Our church is blessed to have so many talented musicians and singers who are willing to serve!   

Please remember that we are always on the lookout for more “willing talent” to add to the music ministry at Piney Grove. There is a critical need for musicians who play the piano or organ and are willing to substitute occasionally for Gayle and Marie. We can always use more folks to provide special music, and there is always room for more singers in our choir! If you are interested to devote an hour and fifteen minutes each week to rehearsals, please contact our music director, Joli Brooks, for more information.
