Terry R. Golden is a native of West Virginia who accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord in October of 1962. Terry and his wife, Vicki were wed on September 13, 1975. They are the blessed parents of two daughters, Ashley (Golden) Rikard and Kelsey Golden, and have two precious grandchildren, Peyton Douglas Rikard and Regan Nicole Rikard.
Terry has provided pastoral leadership for five local churches since accepting God’s call to enter the Gospel Ministry in May of 1984. He attended Beckley College (now Mountain State University) in Beckley, WV (1986) and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC in 1992.
Pastor Terry and his family moved to Onslow County in October of 1993 upon his acceptance of the call to pastor the Bear Creek Baptist Church in Hubert. He remained with the Bear Creek Baptist congregation until March of 2008 when the Piney Grove Baptist Church extended the invitation for Terry to begin serving as our pastor.
During his 17 years in the Swansboro area, Terry has devoted volunteer service to various community and county agencies. He is a previous member of the Onslow County Women’s Shelter Board of Directors and a past Community Coordinator for Onslow County Chip (Children’s Health Improvement Initiative). Terry continues assisting the New River Baptist Association of Churches by serving as the current Executive Committee Chairman and a member of the Association’s Evangelism and Missions’ Team.
1 Corinthians 2:9 is one of our pastor’s favorite Bible verses, “But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him (NJKV).”
