The Sunday School is led by Christian servants who are devoted to providing age-appropriate Bible teaching and discipleship for students in each of the 12 classes within the department. If you don't attend, we challenge you in the new year to make Sunday School a part of your Sunday worship. Brief descriptions of the classes include:
INFANT CARE AND ENRICHMENT GROUP
Parents are able to enjoy Bible learning and Christian fellowship while their infants are given tender care and introduced to basic Bible truths about God. “Then they also brought infants to Him (Jesus) that He might touch them…” -Luke 18:15
CHILDREN’S GROUPS
Sunday School has three separate children’s classes for kids ranging from age 3 through grade 5. Teachers use a variety of teaching techniques in helping students learn that God is real and that His ways are always best.
YOUTH GROUPS
Students in grades 6-8 and grades 9-12 discover how a personal relationship with Jesus Christ gives endless purpose and meaning to their lives. They learn how to make the Bible relevant to life’s daily activities and challenges.
YOUNG ADULT GROUPS
These two classes offer Young Adults opportunities for examining and discussing Bible topics and passages in small group settings. Participants are able to continue building close relationships with one another as they take part in Christ-centered activities outside the classroom.
OLDER ADULT GROUPS
Older Adults experience in an enriching discovery of the deeper truths contained in God’s word. Class members also help each other become more skillful in advising and mentoring younger folks in the church and community.
LADIES' GROUP
This class enjoys Bible study and spiritual enrichment in a “females only” setting. Lessons are presented in an atmosphere that is open, encouraging, and inspiring. Participants maintain contact with one another throughout the week in order to share needs and exhibit mutual support.
INTRODUCTORY GROUP
This six-session long introductory class is offered for adults who wish to learn more about our basic Bible beliefs and ministries. Upon completion, participants should be able to determine if Piney Grove Baptist is the right local church for them. Enrolling in the Bible Basics Class is a prerequisite for church membership.
